Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
The 2009 Merlot is ruby in colour with slight hint of violet. The medium bodied
wine is rich in blackfruit aromas with notes of sage and cloves. The palate
predominantly features reduced fruit flavours and the tannins are delicate and
smooth. This wine is exquisitely balanced with a seamless finish.

Winemaker Notes
This vintage of Merlot has grapes from our vineyards on the Black Sage Bench
(Diamondback Vineyard) and the Golden Mile Bench (Tinhorn Creek Vineyard). This
2009 Merlot was cold soaked for three days before fermentation. After fermenting
the wine to a dry style, it was placed in new to three year old French and American
oak barrels for 12 months. Each lot was kept separate throughout the winemaking
process.
Food Pairing Notes
Pair this wine with prime rib, grilled lamb, spaghetti bolognese, or BBQ chicken. At
Miradoro Restaurant try it with the roasted chicken, Moroccan chickpeas with crisp
Silver King tofu, or the pizza pancetta.
