The fruit for this Merlot comes from our Diamond Back Vineyard on Black Sage Bench. The vineyard team works hard to ensure the grapes are picked at the perfect time and quickly transported to our cellar for processing, resulting in the highest quality of freshness.
The grapes are destemmed and gently crushed to release juice and colour from the skins. A steady fermentation allows the fruit flavours to be preserved. Aged in a variety of French, Hungarian and American Oak barrels for 12 months, the wine is then transferred to stainless steel tanks before bottling.
With a fabulous purple-violet colour, our 2019 Merlot has distinct flavours of cherries, plums and dried figs. A hint of oak provides great texture and a smooth finish. Enjoy opening a bottle today, or cellar up until 2029.
