Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
This Syrah is dark plum in colour with violet hues and is truly a Rhone-style
Syrah. It is full bodied with lifted notes of bell pepper, white pepper with
leathery, earthy, raisin, and currant characteristics. With mouth watering acidity
and delicate tannins this wine is finely balanced and built to age.
Awards
FINALIST - Lt. Governor's BC Wine Awards, 2011
BRONZE - Intervin Wine Competition, 2011
Production Notes
Our Syrah comes from both our vineyards in Oliver; Tinhorn Creek (Golden Mile
Bench) and Diamondback (Black Sage Bench). One third of the 2008 Syrah was
fermented in open top fermenters and the remaining two thirds in small stainless
steel tanks. It was aged for 19 months in new to 2 year old French oak. It was then
blended together before bottling after which it spent approximately 18 months
bottle aging.
Food Pairing Notes
Try it with BBQ lamb, beef brisket, or pork tenderloin. At Miradoro Restaurant try
this with the lamb ragout with orecchiette.
