Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
The 2008 Oldfield Series Merlot is a richly extracted garnet colour and is fullbodied.
It has powerful black fruit aromas with lifted herbacious notes. Flavours
of concentrated black fruit integrate with rosemary and nettle for an enduring
finish. Big tannins and the high alcohol are well integrated making this a well
balanced wine that will age well.

BRONZE - Intervin Wine Competition, 2011
Production Notes
The 2008 vintage blend is 87% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Syrah. The
varietals were fermented separately in stainless steel tanks prior to being moved
into oak barrels. They then spent 18 months in 100% French oak ranging in age
from new to two year old. After barrel aging the wine was blended together prior to
bottling. It spent 15 months in bottle before its release.
Food Pairing Notes
Pair with venison, prime rib, or a savoury stew. While at Miradoro Restaurant try
it with the roast chicken or the meatball sandwich.
