Dark in hue, the wine begins with seductively sweet aromas of cassis and blackberry.
On the palate, the wine has flavours of plum, cassis, and vanilla. There is
a hint of coffee and tobacco on the finish, as well as a touch of mint. The bright
flavours and the moderately angular texture reflect the cool vintage. Nevertheless,
this is a well-grown, elegant and satisfying red.

The blend leans toward the model of Bordeaux’s right bank: cabernet franc and
merlot with some cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot. It displays considerable
savouriness for a New World red blend, too. Full-bodied, it’s simultaneously dry
and juicy, with dark, tangy plum and cherry jam infused with cigarbox and mildly
astringent tannins. Brilliant for roast lamb.

Just ordered another six bottles to go with the club six shipment in May. Love the 2011 2Bench Red. Still saving my 2010 merlot, pinot noir, and syrah which are equally as good.
