In lieu of our yearly fundraising event "Girls Night Out" in support of Desert Sun Counselling Centre we've created an Innovation (4) bottle bundle! $20 from each pack will be donated to this not-for-profit organization which is working within our community providing community outreach, counselling, mental health support, affordable housing, crisis help and so much more.
Each bundle will include:
Two (2) bottles of Innovation Series Méthode Ancestrale:
Cloudy appearance due to lees retainment and no filtering or disgorging and a slight peachy colour. Nose is intensely yeasty with lemon, honeycomb, almond biscotti and brioche. The palate is fresh and lively with fresh pastry, lemon curd, lime zest and white peach. Long persistent Finish.
This wine requires disgorging by hand ('à la volée'), holding the bottle upside down, opening it and then quickly tilting it back upwards so that only enough wine is forced out to take the sediment with it. Store upside down in fridge 24 hours prior to consuming to allow sediment to settle in neck of bottle prior to opening.
Two (2) Bottles of Innovation Series Rosé:
A pale pink grapefruit colour, with a charming nose that is a dead giveaway for Chardonnay. White peach and then subtle red cranberry nose from the Pinot Noir skins. A touch dusty, with anise as well before rounding into Rosé form with watermelon and red Anjou pear. The palate shows the Ripasso process in much more detail and has an earthy Pinot Noir character. Dried cranberry, tangerine citrus and dried herbs de Provence. On the label, we shortened this description to garrigue, but the French refer to this as the scent of the countryside, which is full of sage, thyme, rosemary and lavender. If you walk through the South Okanagan after a spring or autumn rain you get something similar, although more sage driven. The wine Finishes dry and warm with some umami, seaweed flavours, a touch of grip and plenty of complexity. Certainly not your typical Rosé.
