Keeping Our Team and Guests Safe

What we are doing for you:

  • We are following the direction of BC’s Health Officer by limiting our capacity: no more than 12 guests will be permitted in the wine shop at a time, and no more than 12 guests on the patio for tastings (reservations are recommended, patio is a 19+ area)
  • Our teammates will be wearing face masks to protect both themselves and you
  • Our teammates will wash their hands before each group
  • We will be sanitizing patio chairs and tables, tasting menu stands, glassware, and payment terminals in-between each group of guests
  • Washrooms and all high touch points (door handles, counters, etc) will be sanitized frequently throughout the day
  • Wine tasting flights will be pre-poured at the bar, then brought out to guests seated on the patio
  • Purchases may be made with Visa or Debit; cash will not be accepted at this time
  • Our team will stay home if they are not feeling well in any way

What you can do for us:

  • If you are not feeling well, please visit us another time
  • Please use complimentary hand sanitizer upon entry of the Wine Shop
  • We ask that all guests wear a face mask when in the winery, guests will be able to remove the mask while doing the tasting only.
  • Please respect social distancing regulations and remain 2 M (6 feet) apart from other guests (we’ve placed directional arrows and floor markers to guide guests)
  • In the Wine Shop, please only touch what you intend to buy
  • Tastings are outdoors in the summer, so please come prepared for the weather and will be a designated areas in the wine shop
  • Please do not bring outside food or drink in the wine shop or on the tasting patio; our family-friendly pic nic area is available for this use

Be kind and be patient.

Tinhorn Creek Open

We look forward to welcoming you back into our wine shop! We have re-opened our doors for wine purchases as of Thursday, May 21st. Our hours of operation are 10am - 5pm daily.

Our wine shop is set up to adhere to social distancing protocols, so we ask for your patience as we can only accommodate eight (8) guests in the building at once. We are not able to offer wine tastings, tours, or events at this time.

We plan to start offering seated wine tastings on our outdoor patio the first week of June. Guests will enjoy a flight of four (4) wines for $15 per person, waived with purchase of two bottles per person. The tasting patio will be a 19+ space because our capacity is only 12 seats, and we encourage guests to book in advance by calling 1-888-484-6467/250-498-3743 or by booking here.

You may purchase a bottle of wine and GoVino glasses to enjoy outside in our pic nic area or amphitheatre, which are kid-friendly. Complete your pic nic with take-out meal from Miradoro Restaurant!

For your convenience and safety, we will continue to offer curbside pick-up of wine purchases. Place your order online, or call us in advance at 250-498-3743, so we can have your order pre-packed and ready for you when you arrive.

IMPORTANT: Special Announcement to our Winery Fans...

TO OUR DEAR WINERY FANS,

At Tinhorn Creek Vineyards, our number 1 priority is the health and safety of our guests, staff members and the community. We are following direction from Health Canada and monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation closely. We’d like to take a moment to communicate the standards we have in place to ensure the comfort, health, and wellness of our guests, employees and the community. We wish you and your family good health.

In addition to our current stringent food handling safety practices and cleanliness standards, we have implemented the following additional sanitizing precautionary measures:

  • We have increased the frequency of disinfecting in all locations and shared spaces. High traffic areas such as tasting bars, cash desks, menus and pin pads are sanitized after each use.
  • We have eliminated high hand touch features from our tours.
  • We have postponed large scale gatherings scheduled until the end of April.
  • We have increased the level of social distancing in our restaurant by increasing space between tables.
  • In our restaurant, tables will not be pre-set, glassware and utensils will arrive at the table after you have been seated. The payment pin pad will be sterilized after each use in the restaurant.
  • We have increased the number of hand sanitizers throughout the location.
  • We are reducing any unnecessary hand contact with guests.
  • Posters are located throughout the winery to remind all guests of proper handwashing techniques.
  • We have provided staff training specifically related to COVID-19 on handwashing best practices, sanitary standards, and safe work practices, requiring staff with any symptoms of any illness to remain at home.

While we respect that some guests will decide to stay home, we know that other guests will continue with their plans to visit wine country. At Tinhorn Creek, we are monitoring the situation, and we’re committed to maintaining the highest possible standards for the safety of our guests and employees.

Please feel free to contact us directly at 250-498-3743 or winery@tinhorn.com if you have any questions or concerns.

Smell, Taste & Enjoy Harvest at Tinhorn Creek Vineyards

Autumn is an opportune time to visit Tinhorn Creek Vineyards to savour delicious local ingredients while watching grape harvest. Sip the ever-evolving wines that celebrate two distinct vineyards: one on the Golden Mile at the winery, Tinhorn Creek Vineyard; and the other across the valley off Black Sage Road, Diamondback Vineyard. Taste the creative seasonal cuisine at the onsite award-winning Miradoro Restaurant.

Enroll in events that herald the harvest. For Hops, Grapes & Grub, September 30th, the Miradoro team takes on the challenge of creating a scrumptious family-style, three-course dinner to match both with wine and ale; each course is paired with a Tinhorn Creek wine and a Cannery Brewing beer. Tickets are $85 inclusive. Partake in another elevated evening of exceptional food and wine during the Okanagan Wine Festival, October 4th, at the Guest Chef Dinner. Miradoro Chef Jeff Van Geest invites Chef Chris Whittaker from Vancouver’s Forage Restaurant to partner in creating a multi-course dinner paired with Tinhorn Creek wines. Dinner, wine and gratuities are included for $125 plus GST. Seating is limited so reserve your spot soon. For these dinners call Miradoro at 250-468-3742 or email info@miradoro.ca for reservations.
Another perennially popular Okanagan Wine Festival event is Grazing in the Vineyard, from 11 am to 1:30 pm, on October 3rd, 4th or 5th. Purchase your $55 ticket in advance at tinhorn.com to enjoy a hike through the vineyard with proprietors Kenn and Sandra Oldfield while sampling Tinhorn Creek wines with canapes from Miradoro Restaurant. Afterwards enjoy a three-course lunch by Miradoro. For members of perhaps the Okanagan’s most generous wine club, sign up early for the Crush Club’s Pick Up Party, 1 to 3 pm, October 1st, for an afternoon of music, wine and food.
