We took a couple of days off harvest and will be jumping in again later this week. We have now harvest 30% of our fruit. Most of the whites are fermenting in tanks with just our Chardonnay and a little bit of Viognier and Semillon left to go. This week will hope to be harvesting the Chardonnay and our first reds of the vintage (Pinot Noir and maybe some Merlot).

The Pinot Gris is all harvested for this week and today we started bringing in Gewurztraminer. We are hand-picking today and tomorrow at Tinhorn Creek Vineyard on the Golden Mile Bench.

We stuck our toe into harvest last week, but this week we are jumping right in. We've have 3 full days of Pinot Gris to start the week and we will finish if off with 2 days of Gewurztraminer.
This photo was taken from the balcony where you can watch the cellar team at work.

Today was a beautiful day to start our 20th Harvest at Tinhorn Creek. The sun was shining and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.
At about 7am we started harvesting our Muscat, Chardonnay, and a small amount of Sauvignon Blanc from our Tinhorn Creek Vineyard on the Golden Mile Bench. These 3 varietals are being field blended and will eventually become part of our Oldfield Series 2Bench White. By 10:30 am everything was picked and in the press.
Next week we will start harvesting our Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris.
Stop by anytime (we are open 7 days a week) and check out all the harvest action from our balcony that overlooks the crush pad.
