"Utilizing all five Bordeaux varietals, with nearly half Cabernet Sauvignon, this is a gorgeous red blend from the Diamondback Vineyard on the Black Sage Bench. It shows a range of dark and red fruits on the nose with interesting herbs, spice, tobacco and leather notes. It’s refined on the palate, not heavy, with intense berries and interwoven with balancing spice and fine tannins. Nicely balanced and drinking fine now with room to improve - 91 points, Rick Vansickle, October 2016.
"The Oldfield family’s vision, investment and expertise continues to show with this Left Bank Bordeaux-style red from their estate plantings in British Columbia’s Southern Okanagan on the Black Sage Bench and Golden Mile Bench. Cabernet Sauvignon (47%), Cabernet Franc (24%), Merlot (20%), Malbec (6%) and Petit Verdot come together for aromas of huckleberry, violets and vanilla with cedar and white pepper. Black currant and Marionberry flavors bring juicy acidity and a pleasant crunch of blackberry seed tannin. Rating: Excellent" - Great Northwest Wines, March 2017.

Aromatics take a bit to open up but yield a wonderful complex range of spice and dark fruit. Blueberry pie from the Cabernet Sauvignon and dried herbs and cigar tobacco from the Cabernet Franc. Palate is structured but showing really nice blue and black fruit. The wine is wonderfully balanced, powerful with very fine tannins giving length and staying power.
