Harvest was completed just after Thanksgiving this year (October 12). We had fantastic weather and everything is pointing towards a stellar vintage. All of our 2009 blends (Oldfield Series 2Bench White, Oldfield Series 2Bench Red, Oldfield Series Merlot, Oldfield Series Syrah have been created and barrels are being filled today. The 2009 Oldfield Series 2Bench White will be available Spring 2010 and the 2009 Oldfield Series reds in the fall of 2012.
For those Tinhorn Creek Gewurztraminer fans out there you will be happy to hear that we are planting more Gewurztraminer. We will be tearing out 4 acres of Merlot, from behind the Oldfield house, and replacing it with Gewurztraminer. The old Merlot vines are being separated from the wire and will be chipped in to mulch which will be used for landscaping in 2010.
