Tinhorn Creek Vineyards proudly announces Blackie & the Rodeo Kings as the headlining band for its 2013 Canadian Concert Series. The much-anticipated annual event is a rare opportunity to see some of Canada's top musical talent while enjoying award-winning wines and taking in the spectacular views of the South Okanagan Valley.
Tinhorn Creek’s outdoor amphitheatre sits atop the winery’s hillside overlooking the famed Golden Mile, and is a one-of-a-kind venue for dancing the night away under the stars. Premiering May 25th, the 2013 Canadian Concert Series features up-and-coming Canadian talent every month and ends with Juno Award-winning Blackie & the Rodeo Kings for the grand finale performance.
Following Brickhouse May 25th, Jackie Treehorn June 22nd, The Matinee July 27th and Five Alarm Funk August 24th, the celebrated group Blackie & the Rodeo Kings will take the stage on Saturday, September 7th. Blackie & the Rodeo Kings is a folk-rock/alternative country trio formed in Hamilton, Ontario. Tom Wilson, solo artist Stephen Fearing, and guitarist/producer Colin Linden, first started Blackie & the Rodeo Kings as a tribute to one of their favorite Canadian folk artists, Willie P. Bennett. The band has since evolved into one of the finest roots-oriented bands in North America. Expect to see a great performance as these versatile musicians perform songs from their recent album, Kings & Queens, and hits from their 18 years together.
Tickets to the Canadian Concert Series are now on sale and are some of the most sought-after in the South Okanagan and beyond. Seasons tickets are just $100—see the first four concerts in the series for the price of three—and include a complimentary Go Vino stemless plastic wine glass. Tickets for the Grand Finale concert featuring Blackie & the Rodeo Kings are $65. All concerts start at 7pm (gates open at 6:30pm).
